Winter Conditions Are On The Way

Forecasters are calling for an arctic front that will descend from the north into the Prince George area, bringing temperatures well below the freezing mark. Travellers are reminded to be prepared for winter conditions on the roads. Cold air will continue to push south, ahead of a building high over the Yukon, with the chilly conditions persisting until the weekend. Just in time for the cold weather, local homeless shelters are opening extra beds that will stay open through the winter months. 30 more beds, 10 at each shelter in the city are now available. AWAC is also putting its outreach vehicle on the road through the winter months – with a van that offers hot drinks, food, warm clothing and even a ride to a shelter for those who need it.
