Wildfire Meeting With The Province

It was an unprecedented year for wildfires, particularly in the cariboo where millions of hectares of forest was burned. And communities are still dealing with the impacts. There was a recent meeting in Williams Lake between the Province and those involved to look at …
“Ways that we can work better in the future so that, if we have another major event like, we can be that much better in our response,” explains Brad Beckett, the Director for Emergency Social Services.
The plan is that the Province will take that information and what comes of subsequent meetings to put together a report with actionable recommendations for communities.
And Beckett says the Province is well aware there is pressure to get that report in place before the next wildfire season starts.
