Hundreds Turnout For Civic Light-Up

Christmas officially arrived Sunday evening in Prince George with the annual Civic Light-Up.

Several hundred turned out for the free family event at the Canada Games Plaza. They were treated to an afternoon of singing, dancing, skating, and some festive treats to nibble on.

The highlight of the event came with the Christmas countdown.  When zero hit, the Christmas lights illuminating Civic facilities were turned on, and Santa Claus arrived.

The festive atmosphere in the Plaza was backed up by the Festival of Trees inside the neighbouring Civic Centre.  That celebration began Friday and will continue through the weekend.
