Local Builder Creates Tiny Home

The Tiny home craze has caught on in North America.  Minimalists,  environmentalists and some who cant afford to get into the housing market are turning to the alternative.  One local builder who is hoping his small homes can make a big impact.

The Aspen is the first tiny home Marco Giroux has built, and it took about 3 months for the local carpenter to finish. With features such as radiant heated flooring,  a humidity converter, and a heater and hot water tank, it retails for just under 90 thsouand dollars.

The tiny home is considered an RV and is easily transported to one place to the next,  or can be hardwired into electricity for a longer term stay.   This mobility will allow Giroux to market his business throughout North America – as he can hook up and deliver the finished project.

Giroux has held several open houses and has had plenty of interest so far – along with his Borealis tiny homes Facebook page, his next step will be marketing his tiny home to buyers outside of the Prince George area.
