Prince George to Take Part in Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The City of Prince George will be one of the 19 communities across Canada participating in the Climate and Asset Management Network.
The city will actively reduce greenhouse gas emissions by creating asset managemet strategies to align with the community’s effort to help climate change.
Prince George will receive $52,000 of the 1.6 million in grant funding to integrate climate change goals into infrastructure assets, such as, roads, buildings and water and sanitation systems.
“These municipalities will lead the way in finding efficient and innovative ways to plan, build, and maintain infrastructure. The expertise and knowledge shared by this network will help communities across Canada reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Innovative green infrastructure projects contribute to a clean growth economy and strengthen the middle class by ensuring communities are healthy and sustainable places to live,” said Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities.
