College Heights Elementary Students Teach Lesson In Giving

About 20 students from kindergarten to grade four make up a knitting club at College Heights Elementary. It’s gained in popularity since being created last year, where only a handful of students participated. That’s partly because the students have decided to donate what they knit to local charities. Teacher, Jo Finnie, said it’s been fulfilling to see the students thinking of others in the community. “They’re very eager to be able to have quite a few hats made before Christmas,” Finnie said. As of this afternoon, the club has finished nine hats. Students will be working on more toques and scarves until Christmas break.
