A unique art exhibit is on display this week at the Omineca Arts Centre. Damian John’s “Chasing the Caribou Woman” opened on Friday. It’s been described as psychedelic for its movement and vibrant colours in each painting. This is the first time John has had his artwork in a show.  “It’s risky, it feels vulnerable for sure,” he said, “when I do my art it’s really a piece of my soul, so showing it to everybody you never know if people are going to like it.”

“Most of my art is kind of in contrast to all of the negative stuff that’s going on in the world,” John added, “it’s my way to counterbalance it by creating beautiful things.”

John said the reaction from the public has been positive. Art lovers and even some passersby have enjoyed the exhibit. The show is open until the 22nd, from noon to one and six to nine each night.
