Prince George city council dissolved the Select Advisory Committee on Economic Development in its meeting Monday. The committee was made up of about 17 individuals from different sectors to advise council on it’s Economic Development Strategy. It was created in January 2016 and reached the end of its two-year term this December.

Members included representatives from School District 57, Downtown Prince George, the Airport Authority, and many others. Now that it has been dissolved, the city doesn’t plan on cutting ties. Members will continue to participate in round-table discussions to improve the economic growth in Prince George.

“These folks give us invaluable advice about what to go after. What makes a strong community, and every one of them has a diverse opinion about it and we want to take that and make it work within the structure of the strategic plan,” said Mayor Lyn Hall.
