Gift A Getaway Contest Winner Announced

Shar-lee Layzell is the winner of CKPG’s 2017 Gift A Getaway contest. We took nominations earlier this year for someone deserving in the community to win a $1000 travel voucher along with many other prizes from local businesses. Earlier this year, Shar-lee and her fiance successfully got custody of their two nephews after a long adoption process, while caring for a toddler of their own, and juggling full-time school and work. That’s why her mom, Sylvia, nominated her. “Going from a small family to a family of five, three kids, it’s a little hard to put money away when you’re in school full-time,” said Sylvia. “You enter these things but you never think you’re the one that’s going to get picked for it,” she added, “know I know she can plan a honeymoon.”

“We’ve been trying to plan a honeymoon for next August, and it’s a little hard because we’re trying to buy a home at the same time,” Shar-lee said, “this is exciting, I’m just mindblown.”
