River Ice Jam Status

PRINCE GEORGE – City of Prince George Public Works and Fire Rescue crews are jointly monitoring the Ice Jam and water levels along the Nechako River. Since the localized flooding event Sunday night, the city has been watching the river around the clock. Three homes along the river on Morning Place are impacted by the flooding river. Forcing the homeowners to protect their homes from the flooding river. According to Fire Chief John Iverson, the river level had fluctuated in the past few days and then stabilized. The last check made was Wednesday afternoon, which resulted in no changes to the river levels.
