PRINCE GEORGE — The Province recently released graduation rates for the past school year, and once again the numbers are up. Here in the Prince George district, 73 percent of students completed high school, 11 percent lower than the provincial average. The biggest gains over the past decade are the completion rates of aboriginal and special needs learners. Those numbers are up by 17 percent each. District 57 Superintendent Marilyn Marquis-Forster says teachers are working hard in the classroom to meet the needs of learners, but there is still work to be done.
PGDTA President Joanne Hapke says continued professional development opportunities are helping educators meet the social-emotional needs of learners.
