Grant Information Session On Wednesday
PRINCE GEORGE — The city is reaching out to local residents and organizations interested in accessing support for projects aimed at improving Prince George. A public grant information session will be held this Wednesday, from 10-11 am in council chambers. Community Enhancement Grants, Celebrate Prince George Community Grants and MyPG Community Grants are the three different grant streams.
Community Enhancement Grants are available to community groups, non-profit societies, neighbourhoods and businesses. Celebrate Prince George Community Grants are available for the expansion and development of local events from the city and Tourism Prince George. MyPG Community Grants are available to local organizations to help develop and implement new activities, projects and events that add to the improvement of the community.
The flexibility of the application process is part of the changes this year. Applicants who have proposals for year-round initiatives can now apply, instead of the limitation to just February and July. Also, this year will be the start of multi-year funding, two different grant categories: Emerging tourism events can get up to $5,000/year and Signature tourism events can get up to $15,000/year and lastly, there’s now one annual intake held on March 15th for all 2019 events.
You can RSVP to Jen Tkachuk, Civic Events Coordinator by calling (250) 614-7880 or email jen.tkachuk@princegeorge.ca.
