Ceremony Held Today For Dr. Bert Kelly

PRINCE GEORGE — Hundreds of residents are gathered today at the Prince George Civic Centre to remember an important medical doctor in the north. A ceremony celebrating the life of Dr. Bert Kelly is being held at this hour.  Kelly passed away last month following a fight with cancer.  He was 71.  Kelly is remembered fondly as an advocate for improving medical treatment in the north and was one of the key forces behind UNBC’s Northern Medical Program and the development of the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North.  Among the speakers at this afternoon’s event is Prince George Valemount MLA Shirley Bond and former medical colleague Dr. Michael Moran.
