Three Recipients Of RTDNA Award
VANCOUVER – Hudson Mack, Rick Cluff and Wayne Williams have been named the recipients of the RTDNA Canada Lifetime Achievement Award in Western Canada. The award recognizes the three journalists’ outstanding service and continued excellence in their careers.
Hudson Mack’s 35 years in broadcasting included being the face of television news on Vancouver Island, two decades as an anchor and assistant news director at CHEK-TV, news director and anchor for the re-launch of “The New VI” which became CTV Two and a few years at CKPG News in the 1980’s. Mack has received other awards over the years, he’s been heavily involved in the community and has published his autobiography, ‘Unsinkable Anchor’.
Wayne Williams recently retired after working for over 35 years at CBC. He started off covering difficult assignments like the Clifford Olson case, covering the legislature and being a part of CBC Vancouver’s investigative news unit.
Rick Cluff retired late last year after working for CBC’s Radio One. He helped make it BC’s number one radio station where he provided a fair place for discussion and discovery of the community. Cluff has covered multiple sporting events and an active volunteer in the community.
