New Floor Plans Laid Down For Civic Centre

PRINCE GEORGE – A new floor should be on the way for the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.

The plan is to replace the existing floating maple wood-sprung flooring in the auditoriums of the building with a non-sport flooring.

The flooring is being replaced due to wear and tear, but also because it is not being used for its original purpose. When the Prince George Civic Centre opened its doors in 1994 it was designed to serve as a multipurpose facility.

Since the Northern Sports Centre was opened in 2007, it’s a rarity that the facility is rented out for sports. The new PG Conference and Civic Centre floor will cost $145,000.
