PRINCE GEORGE – Diverse foods, unique performances, and catchy music can be found at the Columbus Community Centre on Saturday. A Day of Cultures invites everyone to learn about the variety of culture throughout our city.

The event begins at 9:30 with the re-naming of the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society building. It will be honouring the founder of IMSS by naming the building “The Baljit Sethi Centre”. Soon after, the celebrations will move to the Columbus Community Centre where there will be entertainment featuring cultures from around the world.

The goal for the day is to encourage, especially the younger generation, to understand and respect the diversity of people in our community. With food and dances coming from places like Africa, Australia, South America and more this event is for everyone to enjoy.

To better understand a culture is to experience what it has to offer. This may be the first Culture day the IMSS has put on but Prince George has a lot to look forward to as the event is now signed to a three-year contract.
