PRINCE GEORGE – Council has given the first nod to some changes to the Multi-Family Housing Incentive program, to include seniors housing and care homes.

“The Multi-Family Housing Incentive program involved extensive consultation, including with the Prince George Council of Seniors, where we heard loud and clear that we really need to do something to meet the demand from the aging population in Prince George,” says Tiina Schaeffer, the Manager of Sustainable Community Development.

The Multi-Family Housing Incentive program involves offering tax incentives and, in some cases, reduced Development Cost Charges, for properties built on City-owned land near amenities, like grocery stores and Transit. The program was first introduced in 2015.
