Building Permit Values On The Rise
PRINCE GEORGE – The City is fast approaching some record-breaking number when it comes to building permits and the value of those permits.
“It’s incredible, really,” says Melissa Barcellos, the Manager of Economic Development. “Especially when it comes to residential real estate development. We’ve been seeing increasing numbers of building permits and the value is going up.”
Looking at the first half of this year, the number of permits issued rose marginally for single-family dwellings, from 73 to 83, but the value of those permits nearly doubled, going from $28.5 million to $46 million. The total value of permits is pushing $100 million for the first half of the year, though a big part of that is the permit for Kelly Road Secondary School, at $28 million.
