The Public Gets Behind The Wheel Of The Bus

PRINCE GEORGE – A 35-foot transit bus was taken over by many first-time bus drivers at Prince George’s Bus Roadeo. The event is celebrating 40 years of partnership between BC Transit, the Province, Prince George and Pacific Western Transportation.

Transit bus drivers face many obstacles every day when getting around the city to pick up their passengers. To celebrate the 40-year mark for Prince George Transit, a few people from around the city got a chance to see just how hard these obstacles really are. Each new driver was scored on how well they could avoid the traffic cones and the lowest score took the win.

Some of the drivers can remember back to when it cost 35 cents to take the bus and find it hard to believe how far the technology and updates have come. Through all the years, Prince George Transit says they couldn’t have done it without their great partnerships.
