Northern Bear Awareness and Northern Lights Estate Winery Form Partnership

PRINCE GEORGE – The Northern Bear Awareness and Northern Lights Estate Winery formed a business partnership four years ago to help educate the public about urban bear conflicts. Each year volunteers pick apples that have become bear attractants and good for winemaking. Each year hundreds of pounds of apples are picked and made into wine. Some of the proceeds from the sale of the wine go into an education fund. This year the winery expecting to collect 30 thousand pounds to make into its popular apple wine. Starting Saturday, August 25th The Northern Lights Estate Winery will begin accepting all variety of ripe apple.
