PRINCE GEORGE- It was a change of plans for staff at Echo Lake Bible Camp, located about halfway between Fort St James and Vanderhoof. Campers were evacuated earlier this month to make way for firefighters, fighting the nearby Shovel Lake blaze. The camp remains under an evacuation alert and was shut down for the rest of the season, much to the disappointment of campers. Luckily, Ness Lake Bible Camp was able to accommodate those who wanted to travel this week. It has taken on about 30 campers and some staff from Echo Lake. Staff say the transition was an easy one, as the last week of camp typically has fewer kids register.
