School Is Back This Week
PRINCE GEORGE – Students in private schools in Prince George are back in classes Tuesday morning while public school students have one final day to prepare for the new year. Every school has its own starting and dismissal times for the first day of school so school officials are urging parents to check their individual school website for the information.
Students in Fort St. James also have an extra day of summer. Following the cancellation of the community’s evacuation alert over the weekend, schools will use today to prepare for students tomorrow.
New students are being introduced to UNBC today with an orientation and BBQ. Classes will begin in earnest tomorrow. And at the College of New Caledonia, most classes in the fall semester kick off today.
Meantime RCMP are warning drivers that school zone speeds are going back into effect. That means slow down and watch for pedestrians or face severe fines.
