UNBC Promotes Sustainability With A New Campaign

PRINCE GEORGE – UNBC’s sustainability department is launching a campaign to encourage staff and students to adopt a greener lifestyle. 20 days of sustainability focusses on a new green initiative everyday for the month of september like biking to school, recycling and composting. Maria Mercer, interim sustainability manager at UNBC hopes that the campaign will help “to get the word out about some of our sustainability initiatives on campus and some of our green characteristics we have.” Students say that it’s easier to be green with the help of recycling bins around campus and metal straws that are given to students who live in residence.
