PRINCE GEORGE- The Union of BC Municipalities is hosting a workshop Monday to discuss what many communities have faced this summer: fire and flood. Communities and ministry officials will come together to reflect on the last two years and plan for the future. Director, Brian Frenkel, says he wants more money in the provincial budget to fight fires when they’re small, to prevent them from becoming hundreds of thousands of hectares in size. He also says he thinks the meetings will ensure municipalities and the province are on the same page to ensure wildfires are controlled faster in the future.
