ECRA Reaches A Milestone
PRINCE GEORGE – Lunch at the Elder Citizens Recreation Association was a little busier than usual.
On September 13th ECRA signed it’s 1000th member. As of Friday, they are sitting at 1008 and are celebrating with turkey and pie.
“It’s more comforting to know that we can service as many people as we can. This is the point, I am not looking to set any record, I am looking for people to be happy, to come here, enjoy a great lunch, have great fun and have a better life,” says past president, Mike Bundock.
As the numbers continue to grow, current president of ECRA, Judy Griffith believes it’s because seniors are finding other places like the Okanagan too expensive to retire in. Staying in Prince George or moving back allows them to stay close to friends and family at a low cost.
