Final Ride Of The Season Done Right
PRINCE GEORGE – The CN Centre Parking lot was a sea of more than 350 motorcycles on Sunday. Toys were strapped to the back of bikes at the 37th Annual Prince George Toy Run for the Salvation Army. Operation Hunger Relief had their truck going serving hot chocolate, coffee and sandwiches for all the bikers out enjoying their annual end of the season ride and helping with donations. The goal of the event is to collect enough toys and gifts to fill 350-400 hampers for families that can’t afford presents on Christmas.
“I don’t know if you’ve ever had a Christmas where you haven’t been able to provide for your family, it’s a tough thing for your pride. To get a hamper from the Salvation Army, to make Christmas possible for your family is one of the best things you could ever imagine. It warms your heart and it’s an honour that we do this every year and it’s something we look forward to,” says Bill Glasgow, Donor Relations and Fund Raising Coordinator at The Salvation Army.
Glasgow says every year there seems to be a lack of gifts for teens so he recommends donating gift cards or cash so they can pick up whatever is needed most.
