A Tweet Of A Lifetime
PRINCE GEORGE – Jenna Morland is an author from Fort St. John who just recently released her first book “Empress Unveiled.” She says getting a book published is hard to do from a small town so she came up with a unique idea on how to grab a publishing company’s attention. She used Twitter and only 150 characters to pitch her book to Oftomes Publishing, and it worked.
Morland’s tweet read “A very ill teenager. Her very human bestie. A face sentenced to death. She loves them both. One broken heart. One death. One crown.”
“You just have to believe in yourself the most. You have to be your biggest cheerleader because if you don’t believe in your work then no one else is going to. So that’s my biggest advice is you have to really put yourself out there and know that your work has a place in this world because there are so many other people fighting for the exact same spot so you have to fight hard for it.”
Morland is one of many up and coming writers that Books and Company has helped show off their finished projects. The manager of the bookstore says she sees a handful of people come in each month looking for advice on how to get their book published.
