Midwifery Services In Need Of Funds

PRINCE GEORGE – The growing demand for midwifery services has resulted in the Midwife Association of BC to call on the provincial government for increased funding.
BC has the highest national average of midwife births, which is why the Midwife Association of BC is needing more support and funding from the government.
Extra government funding would mean an increase in the number of midwives available provincewide, which is currently just under 300.
This would mean that families might not have to travel as far for patient care, and that they could receive the best care possible.
