Seniors Stay Curling With New Adaptation

It’s not curling, but sturling. The S stands for stick or slide, the T stands for two people, and “urling”, well that just comes from the original word. The newly introduced form of curling is a hit in Prince George among seniors and those who have experienced injuries as they’ve grown older, making it more difficult to play the young man’s version of the sport. Participants like 79 year old Heyd are entering the second half of their sturling season, with 19 teams now in the league. The elder athletes play every Wednesday morning at the Golf and Curling Club in the slight variation of the popular winter game. The changes made to the sport help people with limited mobility or a history of injury enjoy the sport.
