PRINCE GEORGE- Today marks Aboriginal Culture Day at CNC. George Morris was one of about 15 speakers invited, and he shared his knowledge of traditional medicine with plants found in the north-central interior. He collects roots and bark from plants around his home community of Tachie and makes them into tinctures and teas that are good for the liver, heart, and skin. There were also indigenous artists that shared their knowledge of beading and sewing regalia, dancers and drummers, and elders to share their knowledge about language. Morris says there has been a growing interest in young people for these traditional skills which he says is integral in keeping them alive for generations.
