CNC donors continue to give in memory of their son
PRINCE GEORGE— Over $93,000 from 135 awards were presented to students during the College of New Caledonia’s (CNC) annual Student Awards Night on April 9.
A significant scholarship donor, Perry Adey, spoke at the awards night. He was the first ever donor to speak at the annual Student Awards Night. In 2009, Perry Adey’s son Dillon passed away. In his memory, the Adey family has raised more than $193,000 for student awards and equipment at CNC over the past ten years. Dillon left an impact on many people and continues to do so.
The Adey family have helped CNC allocate scholarship money they’ve donated. Dillon was a business student at CNC, so some money has gone towards the business program. He was also an avid volunteer, so students with volunteer experience often times are awarded scholarships.
Adey says it’s a special feeling to see scholarship money help with their students’ post-secondary careers and to see past award recipients succeed in the community.
