Northern draft picks go back-to-back

Last week, youth hockey players had their futures more or less figured out during the WHL Bantam Draft. Among the names called, 2 Northern BC boys, and one from right here in Prince George got the call from their new teams. Prince George’s Nico Myatovic, last year’s captain of the provincial champion Bantam double-A Bobcats, heard his named called by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the sixth round. Myatovic was listening intently because just one pick earlier, he had heard the name of his teammate from this last season: Williams Lake product Max Sanford.
