Tennis & Pickleball Club Needs Your Help
PRINCE GEORGE – The local Tennis and Pickleball Club needs help. It wants to convert some of the tennis courts behind the Price George Golf and Curling club into six regulation pickleball courts. But the bill attached to those renos is upwards of $60,000.
The club went to Council asking for $45,000 dollars but was rejected, with Councillors saying it would virtually drain the Council Contingency Fund. But the Club argues it is one more amenity to keep seniors in the community.
“Retirees and seniors, they’ve got expendable money, pensions like they’ve never had before,” says Dan Teichroeb, Executive Board member. “To retain them is a big, big boost for any municipality.”
