PRINCE RUPERT — Two people have been arrested following a drug seizure in Prince Rupert.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says on Friday May 10, police executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue.

“Police arrested one 30-year-old male and one 26-year-old female for possession for the purpose of trafficking,” she says.

“Police seized a significant amount of drugs suspected to be cocaine and marihuana as well as a large amount of cash and two vehicles which police believe were all related to a drug trafficking operation.”

Saunderson says the male was released on a promise to appear in court in the near future, and the female was released with no charges.
