PG Airport in the black
There was both good news and bad from the Prince George Airport Authority, who presented to Council last night.
The good news, passenger numbers are increasing steadily and that is pushing the airport into the black. 2018 passengers traffic grew 1.47% over 2017, which pushed the airport over half a million passengers annually. Also, flights have been added. Pacific Coastal Airlines has doubled its flight between Prince George and Victoria, for example.
But both of those have put a strain on capacity, both within the terminal and airplane “parking.” The Airport Authority is looking at ways to address both of those capacity issues.
