Cooking to blame for small fire at Prince George hotel

PRINCE GEORGE — A small fire caused $10,000 in damages to a Prince George hotel last night (May 15).

Prince George Fire Rescue says crews from four halls responded to the hotel located at the 1500 block of Victoria Street just after 9 p.m.

“The first arriving crew arrived to find a two storey hotel with occupants outside and a small amount of light coloured smoke coming from one of the units,” says Assistant Fire Chief John Law.

“Fire crews made a quick attack to the unit and found that the fire had been extinguished by company personnel using a fire extinguisher. Fire crews checked for fire extension and ventilated the unit.”
