Crooks convicted in boat napping incident in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS—Two men in their 30’s have been convicted of several offenses after running away with a truck and boat that wasn’t theirs last December. The two men, Daniel Webster 32 and Michael Rickett, 30 were seen by police pulling a jet boat through McBride during the winter month.

McBride police attempted to stop the duo after learning of the stolen property but failed. Later the men were arrested near Clearwater BC after a night long Police Dog Service track.

Webster was held in custody for 291 days and was sentenced to an 8 month jail term along with a one year probation and a five year Criminal Driving Prohibition. Rickett is scheduled to appear in court on Friday June 7 for 3 counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000.
