VLA homeowner seeks change

PRINCE GEORGE — Enough is enough.

A homeowner in a crime-ridden Prince George neighbourhood is speaking out because he’s fed up with all the illegal activity on his street and he’s taken it upon himself to try and make some change.

Sean Bennett moved to Prince George from Vancouver seven months ago.

Like many in the Lower Mainland, he was feeling stretched by the overpriced Vancouver housing market and moved North for a little more financial breathing room.

Bennett purchased a home on the 2100 block of Tamarack Street in the VLA, and has been shocked by what he’s seen including drug deals and illegal drug use.

He’s planning a petition drive to rally his neighbours for change but notes many in his area are fearful of reprisals.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says police can’t act unless residents come forward.
