PRINCE GEORGE– Indigenous actress Grace Dove made an appearance at the Civic Centre Monday for the Beyond Hope 2019 Library Conference.

Dove gave a keynote speech at the conference which aims at helping librarians and educators north of Hope learn how to go strengthen youth support.

She says she hopes she can inspire and encourage youth not just in our community but globally to work hard for their passions.

“Growing up in the north and being in the arts community; it’s challenging and to pursue my dreams took a lot of courage and I really had to be fearless and so to youth I just really want to encourage that, and inspire that.” -Grace Dove, Indigenous Actress from Secwépemc

She says that she had a lot of support in her youth, moving her career forward and that life experiences made her stronger; she wants to give back the support she felt growing up to youth now.

Dove reached the international spotlight through her role in the 2015 Golden Globe winning film, The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
