Below normal stream flows call for level 3 drought rating: Fort Nelson
Jun 7, 2019 | 9:52 AM
FORT NELSON–The province has declared a level three drought rating for the Fort Nelson area due to below-normal stream flows and signs of drought in smaller streams.
Level three drought conditions call for voluntary water-use reduction from the community. However if the water levels do not stay at above critical level conditions the province may consider regulating water usage under the Water Sustainability Act.
The actions could include the temporary suspension of water licenses or short-term water approvals until levels are returned to minimum critical levels.
