Exploration Place choo-choo chooses new engineer

PRINCE GEORGE— The Little Prince Steam Engine has been an attraction in Prince George for many years. Exploration Place was looking for a new engineer in April, so Catherine Calogheros jumped on the opportunity.
Calogheros is one of the first female engineers to drive the 107-year-old steam engine. She was drawn to the challenge of learning the older technology used to run the steam engine.
“I had a ten month position for a while there, and I needed a summer job- what could be cooler than driving the train?” Calogheros says. “It is pretty old so some of the things are rudimentary. You just get the water really hot, it boils steam, and off we go.”
