Community Counselling Centre hosting fundraiser
PRINCE GEORGE – It’s a service that has helped hundreds of local residents at a very low cost. The Community Counselling Centre is not only working to help families, but to help it’s doors stay open.
The Centre has been open for about a decade, as a partnership program between Northern Health and UNBC that offers counselling at a low cost to locals, at the same time allowing masters students from UNBC to get important working hours toward their degree.
This isn’t the first time the Centre has been in a tight spot. Back in 2015, it stopped taking patients as funding dwindled. A renewed partnership with Northern Health kept the service going, but since then finances to keep the much needed services going have been tight.
