Mikhalchuk Cougars

Mikhalchuk on the move

The Cougars offense took a hit yesterday with the departure of last year’s leading scorer Vladislav Mikhalchuk. The Belarusian has signed a one-year deal with a Russian-based team in the Kontinental Hockey League, or KHL, and will not be returning to Prince George. Mikhalchuk picked up 50 points in 68 games this year, his second season with the Cats. Vlad was originally selected 54th overall in the CHL Import Draft. His departure does however open up a 20-year-old spot on the team and a spot for an international player. The Cougars will pick 10th in this year’s Import Draft on June 27th.
