PRINCE GEORGE – The CN Centre has been a busy place these days, with 250 people being trained on a new computer program aimed at making the registration process for evacuees more efficient.

“I think after the last two years, we’ve really taken away a lot of learning and now we’re applying them,” says Adam Davey, the Manager of Emergency Services. “We’re into the details now, where we’re actually able to really make the process more efficient. I think it’s safe to say this is a game changer.”

The manual registration was cited as the biggest challenge for both evacuees and host communities, as it could take upwards of 80 minutes per person.

Prince George is joining three other jurisdictions in piloting the program and so far the City says it has come through with flying colours.
