BRITISH COLUMBIA–Are you an explorer? Have you always wanted to hunt for treasure? Well, this summer you might just be able to do that.

200 treasure boxes will be up for grabs on The Great Trail in every province and territory across the country.

The goal of the hidden treasures is to get people exploring the trails and exploring a healthy lifestyle according to Deb Chapman, the Communications Manager of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

“Last year we had people flying all over the country to find boxes,”– Deb Chapman, Communications Manager of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Every box will contain a few physical prizes inside for the first lucky hunter to find the box. However every competitor who finds that same box thereafter also has a chance at winning a prize with a slip located inside the box will let competitors enter to win more prizes online.

The more treasures you find the more chances at winning prizes you earn. The prizes include things such as a Nikon camera, a trip to Newfoundland and even an east-coast cruise.

Chapman says this is not meant to be a difficult hunt and is open to just about anyone.

The Great Trail Treasure Hunt starts on June 19 and runs until August, 18, this is the second year in a row that the hunt is back for.
