UNBC appoints new Research Chair

PRINCE GEORGE–UNBC appointed Dr.Tristan Pearce as their new Canadian Research Chair.

Dr.Pearce was appointed as an Associate Professor and CRC of Cumulative Impacts of Environmental Change.

“Improving quality of life for those living in rural, remote and Indigenous communities is key to our research mandate, and Dr. Pearce’s work will further enhance our efforts in this area.” –Dr. Geoff Payne, UNBC Vice President Research and Graduate Programs

Dr. Pearce is a geographer with an international research profile in the human dimensions of climate change. He has researched how the communities in the Arctic, Australia and the Pacific Islands Region have experienced and responded to climate change.

The overarching goal of Dr. Pearce’s research is to contribute to the development of more sustainable environmental and social policies that better reflect and support the needs, concerns and aspiration of communities.
