Coastal Gaslink’s injunction hearing concludes, decision looming
PRINCE GEORGE — The BC Supreme Court has concluded a three-day hearing on Coastal Gaslink’s application asking the court to continue an injunction that was previously granted in December to allow pre-construction activities for its $6.2 billion dollar natural gas pipeline.
Back in January the RCMP had to impose the injunction after roadblocks were put up by protesters leading to a much publicized confrontation near Houston.
In a statement, Coastal Gaslink says “the facts are now before the court and we will await a decision.”
The company notes the 670 kilometre pipeline will deliver natural gas from Dawson Creek to the LNG Canada facility near Kitimat, which will in turn be turned into to liquefied natural gas and exported to international markets.
