Florell pins down post-secondary plans

Excelling at a sport opens your future up to a lot of possibilities, but what happens when you’re top of your class in two different sports and universities are calling with offers for each? Well, you have to make some tough decisions, and when tasked between her first love of wrestling and her new-found passion for rugby, Mackenzie’s Haley Florell has chosen wrestling. The National Gold Medallist leaves in August to attend the University of Winnipeg and train with Canadian Olympian Leah Ferguson, with hopes of one day attending the Olympics herself. Florell has been wrestling since elementary school and said the decision came to her during PGSS’ commencement.
