Police execute search warrant at Ahbau and Chilako

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: Police say a total of nine adult suspects were arrested in three vehicles in connection with this morning’s incident.

“When the third vehicle was pulled over by frontline officers, one of the passengers was identified as 38-year-old Eric Vern West,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“West was wanted on a number of charges stemming from a shooting incident that occurred in Prince George earlier this spring. The shooting occurred on the 2200 block of Quince Street on April 5th.”

West was arrested without incident and the search of the vehicle yielded a quantity of drugs and a firearm.

West will apear in court later today.

Earlier: The Prince George RCMP and the Emergency Response Team have surrounded a home at the corner of Chilako and Ahbau this hour.

Emergency Response Team members can be seen entering and leaving the house. Meantime, Ahbau is closed in both directions.

“At approximately 10:30 this morning, the Prince George RCMP, with the assistance of the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Chilako Avenue,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“Currently our investigators are inside that residence and the investigation is continuing and more details will be provided at a later date.”

He admits police have been at the home for drug-related incidents in the past.
