They’ve been sharpening their skills in Prince George and come Friday, there are a few Cougars who could hear their names called by an NHL team.

The most immediate name you’ll hear called is Taylor Gauthier’s. The Cougars goalie finished the season the 7th ranked North American goalie according to NHL Central Scouting, but since then, he’s done his work to up his draft stock.

Gauthier attended the NHL Draft Combine, where he finished first among all 103 athletes in the squat jump. He’s also since attended Hockey Canada goalie development camp and the U18 World Hockey Championships.

After Gauthier, listen for two Cougar players after that. Cole Moberg, and maybe even Ethan Browne. Moberg finished third in team scoring this year and led all defenceman on the Cougars. C-Mo finished the year ranked 136th among North American skaters, climbing 39 spots from his midterm ranking.
